How They Met

Kristine and Patrick’s story began on the very first day of college at California Baptist University.

“We met on our very first day of college,” Kristine shared. What started as a simple friendship quickly turned into something deeper. “Our friendship began that day and we started dating a year later.”

Looking back, Kristine describes their love story in just three words: “Friendship, gentle, selfless.”

Realizing He Was “The One”

For Kristine, the moment she knew Patrick was the one didn’t come from a single grand gesture, but from the way he cared for the people around him.

“Meeting Patrick’s family and seeing how he treated them — and my friends — showed me his deep heart for others,” she explained. “I knew I could trust him to love and protect my heart.”

The Proposal & Engagement

Kristine had a feeling a proposal might be coming soon, but Patrick still managed to make the day itself a surprise.

“I knew it was coming up,” she said, “but the day it happened was a surprise to me and he planned it so perfectly.”

When Patrick finally asked the question, Kristine felt an overwhelming wave of emotion. “So much joy, a deepened bond with him, and a trust and reassurance that was already there — but it became even more real in that moment.”

Planning the Wedding

Kristine and Patrick took their time planning their wedding, working on it together over the course of a year and a half.

Because they gave themselves that time, the process felt mostly relaxed. “Our wedding planning we did together over a year and a half, so it was fairly relaxed until the final two months,” Kristine shared.

The couple, who live in California’s Central Valley, celebrated their wedding in Pleasanton, California, surrounded by the people they love most.

The Big Day

One moment from their wedding day still stands out vividly to Kristine.

“It was raining all morning and the entire week before,” she recalled. But just before the ceremony began, the weather shifted. “I love thinking about walking down the aisle with the sun perfectly peeking out of the clouds. We were so blessed with beautiful sunshine just moments before the ceremony.”

Patrick also had a small surprise up his sleeve during the ceremony. At one point, he handed Kristine a handkerchief from his suit — something she hadn’t noticed before.
“It was a Star Wars handkerchief,” she laughed. “I had no idea he had it!”

The Ring

For her wedding day, Kristine chose the Stella Half Eternity Wedding Band in yellow gold — a timeless piece that beautifully reflects the start of her life with Patrick. Elegant and classic, the band became a meaningful symbol of the love they had been building for years.

Marriage & Growing Together

Since saying “I do,” Kristine and Patrick feel their bond has only grown stronger.

“We’ve been able to navigate decisions and choices together without fear,” Kristine shared. “We have a covenant bond together and there is so much freedom in knowing we have each other, no matter what.”

Advice  for Other Couples

Looking back on the journey, Kristine’s biggest piece of advice is to slow down and savor the experience. “Don’t rush through this season. Take your time to enjoy every moment. Once it’s over you’ll wish you could do it over and over again.”
